Half Past Monday: A Sci-Fi, Crime Thriller
moved at a good pace. I also enjoyed the author's descriptive narrative and felt pretty creeped out by some of the scenarios in the novel - so much so, I now look at nooks and crannies along my commute in a much different, sinister way! The story has good twists and turns, and just when I thought I had something figured, out, I was proven wrong as I read along. I don't want to give anything away and would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good, suspenseful novel. Furthermore, I would definitely read whatever this author publishes in the future!!"

"Half Past Monday by M. Erpenbeck revolves around Dr Dominic Rivera and his wife, Clarissa, and their little daughter, Savannah. Clarissa had worked as a part-time physician at a local health-care facility prior to becoming a mother. She ran the house with detailed precision and Dominic envied her ability to manage a home and career together effortlessly. Dominic first met Clarissa when he moved to Arizona and he found her gorgeous. His friend, Thomas, told him that she had inherited a crazy gene from her mother and was nuts. That did not stop Dominic from falling in love and making Clarissa his wife. Things took a different turn that Halloween morning when everything looked strange for Dominic while going to work, and when he got back home too. He found out that his daughter was missing. Would Dominic be able to find a way to save both his daughter and his wife? The story is amazing yet at the same time frightening. It is filled with intrigue, suspense, and grief. The plot has many twists and turns and the author manages to maintain the tempo till the very end. The narration is detailed and readers can feel the fear and creepiness as the plot progresses. The main characters of Dominic and Clarissa have been well portrayed and Dominic's angst and pain are palpable to readers. Be it Clarissa’s past, her mother Mary, his friend Thomas’ drug abuse, Dominic’s marital problems, and time travel, the author knits them all together masterfully, making this a compelling read."

"The author REALLY knows her stuff! As a prosecutor, I often find myself being distracted and disappointed by the inaccurate details in many crime thriller books. But this book is different! It's obvious that Ms. Erpenbeck did extensive research before writing her book. This book gave me goose bumps, and I could not put it down. I even surprised myself (and my husband) by yelling out while reading it. This book is a "must read" for anyone who likes dark, crime thriller stories!"

"I read this book last month and initially not what I was expecting, but oh my I could not put it down. This was a book that held my interest I could not wait to get home from work to see what happened next. Very suspenseful, sad and refreshingly different. The author provided great detail for investigative writing. I highly recommend this book if your looking for an intriguing mystery filled with action and unfortunately...a little reality."

"I couldn't put this book down and finished in two days. I knew the story would be good from the heavy descriptions in the first chapter. I love a good mystery and this thriller did not disappoint. A haunting thriller that keeps the reader guessing at every page turn. Very unique and creative storyline. Excellent debut from this author!"

"Almost everyone has a moment in time in which they wish they could go back and change; this story explores what happens when the lead character does just that and the "butterfly effect" of that action. I really enjoyed reading this book and felt that it
